Watlow was founded in 1922 in Missouri as an electric manufacturing company. Initially the company focused on replacing inefficient fuel-based heating systems, and later went on to expand to other heating solutions within the manufacturing industry. The company gained popularity during World War II as the need for heating systems for airplanes increased. Watlow continued to grow and offer similar products including temperature heaters,
